Desire Knows No Limits

Desire knows no limits

It knows not when to stop

Nor can it take a hint

For it is an entity within itself.

They capitalised on her beauty

‘Enhance it’ they said

Because perhaps if her lips were shinier or her skin lost it’s texture,

Then she’s ‘pretty’

They capitalised on her beauty

And sold her lies disguised as dreams,

A façade.

But her desire never dimmed.

Each milestone became more and more insignificant as she scrambled to reach her next target.

And the next one.

And the next one.

‘Maybe I’ll finally be happy’

She not when to stop or take a breath

Fought the battle to the death

but her desire never dimmed.

They capitalised on her beauty,

And won.
